How is it that a thousand years ago, a combination of plant ingredients have such powerful anti-bacterial function? The individual ingredients, taken alone, do not have this property. Apparently, there are chemical reactions among the phytochemical that create this effect – but we don’t know what it is. We may be unlikely to find out as these chemicals are food, not patentable pharmaceutics.
